Franchising Opportunities
After years of developing and refining our business, we realized that our structure and processes could be valuable on a much larger scale beyond our company-owned locations. In 2018, we decided and began preparing to offer franchises as an efficient way to grow nationally and meet the demands we were experiencing for our services. We began development of our program. Our mission was, and still is, to share our knowledge and help entrepreneurs build their own successful businesses while avoiding costly mistakes that can easily happen when growing and running a business. In September 2019, Open Doors Inc started offering opportunities for people to own an Access Garage Door & More.

The Story of Access Garage Door & More
Access Garage Door & More was founded over 20 years ago by our CEO, Jesse Cox in 2005 at the age of 23. He started the business from his apartment complex working on and installing garage doors. He wrapped up his first 12 months of operations with sales totaling 500k. Access was off and running, but that’s not to say there were not many challenges ahead. In 2008, the housing crash forced Access to pivot from relying on new construction. Jesse had to work hard to scale and diversify the young business into the retail sector quickly which already had a lot of local and long-standing competition. Despite making mistakes and learning valuable lessons along the way, Access Garage Door & More continued to show year over year growth while never becoming complacent with the “good enough” mentality. It was the relentless refinement of all facets of the business that continuously elevated Access above the rest. Access Garage Door & More soon became a household name in their market.
Challenges and Success
When we launched our franchise offerings, we didn’t fully anticipate the support we would receive from both inside and outside our industry. We released our program during the pandemic when many people were losing their jobs and businesses. However, the demand for home services continued to grow and we experienced very early and substantial success for new unit development. Challenges then ensued from the effects of the pandemic. Despite the challenges, our franchise owners persevered with our full support. Much like the housing crash of 2008 that our original location went through, The Access corporate team was very quick to react and worked intently with franchises to eventually thrive as our teams have done through these challenges before. In fact, we are proud to say the Access franchise system reached targets in a third of the time than what was originally projected at the time of launching our offerings. Once again, we proved that our Access Garage Door & More business model and our franchise program is sustainable and successful even through trying times.
